Rogers Pass Day 2 - Deep Trees.....

The storms keep coming. Another 20cms overnight in Rogers Pass. I am beginning to think that this place has a law that allows it to only have 20cm + dumps. Today was a little more leisurely than yesterday, sitting in the room constantly refreshing the parks website waiting for the avi bulletin and permit openings. Like kids at Christmas we eagerly looked at the computer and...... half the permit areas were open. Game on!

After much discussion we headed out to an area congested with trees in hopes of finding deep snow protected from wind. On the skin up tree bombs were hammering upon us. Every creak and crack caused a mass scatter to shelter. As we climbed higher the snow quality improved as did our spirits. What do you do on days where you are not sure about stability?

Take photos....

Mushroom people are everywhere in the Pass.

After hitting what we though was the best run thus far we headed back up for another dose of powder therapy. It is like a disease that you can't cure. After yesterday's light fitness walk we needed to put in some work. We managed almost 1200m of skiing today. Then we found this....

Gotta love deep snow. Pat getting his pow fix.
What will tomorrow bring? Not sure but it is dumping outside and we have a few more Powder Gangsters heading up to join us for the rest of the week. Fingers crossed for stability and more snow.
