Wow it has been a while!

I have to admit I was feeling the effort of posting almost continuously for six months.  Last year was an amazing year and the trips and adventures that I was able to do will be hard to rival in years to come. But every year when August rolls around, the fire within begins to smolder and my mind turns to skiing again.

My spring and summer have been full of road racing, but for the first time no hiking. The draw of the mountains is still strong but a bad crash on the bike in June (resulting in a separated shoulder) had put a damper on my enthusiasm to carry a heavy pack for days on end.

I always like to reflect on the past year and really appreciate the adventures. It serves as a way of reuniting myself with my favourite days, but more importantly to start gaining the stoke for upcoming season adventures. It is hard to think that a short two months from now we could be skiing powder! So take a few minutes and write down those trips and adventures you wish to experience this winter, and make a real effort to accomplish them all. Until then remember the days of seasons' past and enjoy the moments!

Alpine Club of Canada and Backcountryskiingcanada.com for an amazing week at Kokanee Glacier Cabin. But the biggest shout out goes to all my skiing partners who suffered through some major missions!!
